I’m taking a break from WWII era kits to build a Roman Legionnaire from Verlinden’s 120mm collection. This soldier dates to circa 100 AD. He carries a  Gladius - short sword, a Pilum - javelin, as well as his shield which is called a Scutum. The Scutum was an essentially part of the Legionnaire’s ability to operate as a team. Interlocking Scutum provided an impenetrable wall against charging enemy soldier.

The Verlinden kit is as detailed and well designed as expected. Stay tunned as I begin this exciting and challenging build.
